Re-Wind USA Blade Bridge Award at Composite Materials Expo

Re-Wind USA researchers from Georgia Tech have won the prize for transformation market applications for composite materials at the Composite Materials Expo in Orlando, Florida.

Prof. Russell Gentry’s team from Georgia Tech demonstrated the potential for market growth in structures based on repurposed composite wind turbine blades.

The Georgia Tech team’s innovative design for a mono-girder blade bridge reduces material usage and enhances the circularity of composite materials used in wind turbine blades. The Composite Materials Expo event was held jointly with the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE).
