Dorcas Mikindani has successfully defended her PhD thesis on “End-of-life investment decisions for windfarms: an opportunity for climate change and for energy community”.
Dorcas examined financial options to support end-of-life options for wind farms and also examined community acceptability of wind energy projects in Ireland and Tanzania. The work was funded by the WindValue project and was supervised by Dr. Peter Deeney of UCC’s Sustainability Institute (now at Maynooth University), Dr. John O’Brien of Accounting and Finance, UCC, and Dr. Paul Leahy, Wind Energy Engineering, UCC. The external examiners were Examiners were Prof Julie Byrne of Dublin City University and Dr Celine McInerney of UCC.
