Re-Wind Conference Updates - September 2025

September 2025 is the busiest month on record for the Re-Wind Network’s international scientific and technical outreach with conference presentations and demonstrations in South Africa, Ireland, England, Scotland and the USA

Re-Wind postgraduate intern student Jonna Wilson demonstrated EirBlade’s suite of repurposing tools at EuroStruct 2025 in Dublin, Ireland. Meanwhile, Paul Leahy was presenting EirBlade at the 3rd WindValue annual conference in Cork, Ireland, organised by Peter Deeney, while Vesna Jaksic was presenting EirBlade at the 6th International Conference on Offshore Renewable Energy in London, UK.

BladeBridge CEO and Re-Wind network member Angie Nagle contributed to ‘Supplier Showcases - Innovating for Success’ at RenewableUK’s OnshoreWind25 conference in Glasgow, UK.

Russell Gentry of Georgia Tech’s Re-Wind USA team showcased their novel blade pedestrian bridge at Composite Materials Expo in Orlando, Florida, USA.

And, Kieran Ruane of MTU, contributed an invited talk to SEMC 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa on “Testing and analysis of pedestrian bridge made of discarded wind turbine blades” showcasing the innovative work of Georgia Tech, MTU, Queens University Belfast and other Re-Wind partners on testing of the Draperstown pedestrian bridge.
